basketball has never been this fun!

the Ateneo Blue Eagles vowed to take revenge against UAAP defending champions the UST Growling Tigers in this afternoon's 4pm match at the cuneta astrodome. the tigers wanted to prove they're still the same team who beat the eagles last season. guess what? they did. UST won over the Ateneo with more than a 10-point lead. i forgot the final score cause i was too busy screaming after UST's victory.

okay, i'll just mention the highlights of the game.

1. Kashim Mirza, one of UST's rookie players, made a lot, as in a lot , of three point shots. it was the turning point of the match because most of the time, either ADMU was leading by 2 points or both teams were tied up.

2. Technical foul of Paolo Gabrillo, Ateneo side. team manager? assistant coach? aaah, i dunno. basta he's also a sports analyst in some other shows.

3. Mel Gile, my irreg classmate in BA1, scored the first 5 points of UST. we're proud of you, Mel!

4. during the halftime break, ang tagal matapos nung presentation ng ADMU. it took about 10 minutess or more and two loud buzzes from the officials before they finally ended their DRUMLINE-inspired performance. Ayun, pinagalitan tuloy sila. the agreement was supposed to be up to 5 minutes lang eh.

5. the cheers from both schools! talagang batuhan! haha. ang ingay sa buong cuneta. GREAT TIMES!

jim asked me about UST possibly entering the final four this season. i said i have no idea. there's still inconsistency with how they play. one moment, they're losing. then on the other, they're winning. they are soooo unpredictable. but i'm still keeping my hopes up. i think the tigers have so much potential. and when you observe carefully, there are lots of great players in the line-up. there's the championship veterans Jervy Cruz, Japs Cuan, Jun Dizon, Dylan Ababou, Jun Cortez?, Mark Canlas and Anthony Espiritu. potential players like Kashim Mirza, Francis Allera and Darryl Basa would contribute a lot to the team too. i really hope they'd make it to the final four! Go Uste!
